Self-Defense for Women

Women's Intensive Course (6-Week Course)

Wednesdays and Fridays 6:30 - 7:30pm TBA

New York Jiu Jitsu has designed the ultimate self defense program. Within 6 weeks, you will learn how to deal with any situation, be it on the street, or in your home. You will also learn several ways you can prevent ending up in a vulnerable situation. We will go over the following:

1. What is Jiu Jitsu?
2. The Three Levels of Self Defense
3. The legality of using force for self defense
4. Principles of Self Defense
5. Tools of Self Defense
6. Essential Key Points of Self Defense

This course will focus on defense from aggressive grabs and holds, strikes, ground attacks, and many other threatening situations you may encounter. Learn to defend yourself and build your confidence in a safe and fun environment!

Minimum of 10 individuals per Specialized course. If less than 10 individuals have registered 3 days before the course begins, you will be notified that the class is being postponed. Your credit is transferable to any NYJJ course offering or a refund may be requested.

Enrollment in this class is for 12 1-hour classes over a 6-week period.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling centered martial art. It's aim is to gain a dominant position over your opponent and cause them to submit through the use of joint locks and chokeholds. A core principle of BJJ is that a smaller and weaker person can easily defend themselves against a larger stronger opponent through the use of leverage and technique.

In this course you will systematically learn the fundamentals of BJJ. Each day will concentrate on a specific position, both offensive and defensive. We will cover both defending and attacking from the back, the mount, side control, half guard, and guard. You will also learn to comfortably roll and fall. By the end of the course you will have a strong foundation in the principles of ground fighting.

This ongoing, women-only class is the perfect opportunity for you to learn how to defend yourself on the ground and become more confident in your grappling skills, in a clean comfortable environment.
