Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Our brazilian jiu jitsu and submission grappling classes with Aaron Milam are a training experience that is both physically and mentally demanding.  Sensei Milam will teach you a methodical approach to gaining and maintaining dominant positional control over your opponent in a way that eventually forces them to submit via choke or joint mannipulation. The central theme of the art is to overcome greater size and strength through the use of technique and leverage, making it an especially valuable tool for competitive fighting as well as self-defense.

Class is taught with a 'feet to floor' philosophy, spending just as much time on takedowns and throws as on the ground techniques that have made Brazilian Jiu Jitsu such a popular element of Mixed Martial Arts. Classes are half gi, half no gi and techniques are drawn not just from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but from the most effective elements of wrestling and Judo as well.
